The Maritime Exchange for the Delaware River and Bay, a nonprofit trade association, is the leading advocate for port and related businesses in the tristate region. The Exchange mission is to protect and promote the Delaware River commercial maritime industry, and we accomplish this by sharing information critical to the timely movement of cargo through the ports and affecting positive policy change on the local and national levels. Through an aggressive government affairs program and a comprehensive online suite of maritime information services, the Exchange ensures its members operate in the most positive economic climate possible.
The Maritime Exchange is the only advocate that speaks on behalf of all segments of the regional Delaware River maritime industry. Working closely with members, colleagues, federal agencies, and regional Congressional members, the Exchange addresses issues of international, national, or local scope, representing its member concerns and giving voice to their views.
Maritime On-Line provides a single portal for vessel, cargo, and real-time position information. It’s designed to meet federal government reporting requirements for import and export cargo manifests and facilitates efficient vessel traffic and cargo operations.
Complementing our advocacy and online services, the Exchange informs members through a quarterly newsletter, The Beacon, daily Federal Register highlights, and the annual port directory, a comprehensive Who’s Who of Delaware River businesses and stakeholders. Members also receive real-time safety, security, and policy alerts from the Exchange communication team.
Maritime Exchange members benefit from several standing and ad hoc committees. The Exchange provides a neutral venue for members to meet with other key regional stakeholders and policymakers to resolve issues, exchange ideas, and work together to find ways to maintain the region’s competitive edge.
