Announcement
- 11/19/12 Now Accepting Applications Metalcraft Marine FireStorm 36/Side Scan Sonar
Due to the impacts of Hurricane Sandy on potential applicants, the Maritime Exchange for the Delaware River and Bay, in conjunction with the Captain of the Port and Area Maritime Security Committee, Sector Delaware Bay, has re-released a Request for Applications for a Metalcraft Marine FireStorm 36.
The PSGP provides funding for transportation infrastructure security activities to implement Area Maritime Transportation Security Plans and facility security plans among port authorities, facility operators, and state and local government agencies required to provide port security services. PSGP funds support increased port-wide risk management, enhanced domain awareness, training and exercises, and other capabilities to prevent, respond to and recover from transportation security incidents.
The boat was originally purchased with FY08 PSGP funds. The original sub-grantee has chosen to relinquish the vessel back to the control of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), which has decided to offer the vessel up for sale to those operating in the Captain of the Port (COTP) Zone, Sector Delaware Bay. In addition, a JW Fishers side scan sonar will be included in the purchase for an additional amount. The items will not be separated and must be purchased together.
Construction of the boat was completed and original sub-grantee took delivery in February 2012.
