Ballast Water
Coast Guard closed the comment period in December 2009 on draft ballast water regulations. Coast Guard is expected to post its final rule sometime early in early 2010 to establish discharge standards -- i.e., acceptable levels of concentrations of organisms and critters – so vendors can provide appropriate technologies/treatment processes for ballast water exchange, discharges, etc.
